Gail’s Running a Marathon!

My Story

This is it, the bucket list run. As a long time runner, with a few gaps where I haven't run here and there, this has always been the ultimate goal. To cover the marathon distance. This year I decided to really put the effort in and get up to 10k but having already surpassed that goal the mini cheerleaders in my head have decided, the time is now!

And added that that, an opportunity to raise funds for the Scottish Air Ambulance. Having had to use their services when our youngest was only newborn, you realise the important role they play in our rural north east Scotland. We live in areas where the main hospitals are 1-2 hours drive away, whereas the air Ambulance has patients there in minutes. Vital for life saving equipment that is only found in the main hospitals. The staff were so wonderful and understanding to us when we used their services, something that will never be forgotten.

So everytime I have a blister, or the road feels too long, or the weather is too pants to run in, I'll be thinking of the funds I am raising for this charity that helps so many people local to where I live. So dig deep folks, think of my poor feeties and my dodgy right knee and sponsor me to get through this!!

wish me luck 🙈🤪🫣😍

The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon is quite possibly one of the most stunning marathons in the world. With spectacular scenery, fantastic atmosphere and a truly memorable experience – it’s no wonder it is on the bucket list for so many runners from around the world.

The Loch Ness Marathon follows a spectacular point-to-point route alongside world famous Loch Ness, starting in an atmospheric moorland setting and continues through stunning Highland scenery, taking you along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, across the River Ness, to finish in Inverness, capital city of the Highlands.
